Makenzie graduated from James Madison University with B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Spanish in 2009. After receiving her B.S.N. from Shenandoah University in 2013, she spent four years as an operating room nurse and later completed her M.S. in Family Nurse Practitioner studies at Simmons University in 2017.
Makenzie is married with three children. She enjoys running, playing volleyball, boating and spending time outdoors with three children and two dogs.
